The engagement of Michelle Rickert, daughter of Lorie and Randy Rickert of Lehighton, and Dakota Strohl, son of Dennis and Denise Strohl of Palmerton, has been announced by their parents.

The bride-to-be is a 2012 graduate of Palmerton Area High School and a 2016 graduate of Moravian College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in neuroscience and sociology. She is currently a graduate student at Kutztown University, where she is working on a master's degree in school counseling. She is employed at Blue Mountain Health System and Kutztown University.The prospective bridegroom is a 2014 graduate of Palmerton Area High School. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy at Lebanon Valley College. He is employed by Dedicated Fitness in Palmerton.No wedding date has been set.
