Keystone Harley hosts military appreciation

Keystone Harley-Davidson will hold its third annual Military Appreciation Day beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at the dealership at 770 State Road, Parryville.

This event is held to recognize the service and sacrifice made by the men and women of the United States Armed Forces and to celebrate Flag Day."We recognize our dedicated servicemen and women each year in June on a weekend close to Flag Day to say thank you to all who have defended our great country, giving us the right to fly our flag" said Debra Brittingham, marketing communications manager at Keystone Harley-Davidson."We have many active duty, veteran and retired service members in our community, and it is our honor to honor each and every one of them."After an invocation by U.S. Army veteran Jed Smurda, a pastor and national president of Kingdom Warriors MC, Jan Rider, a Warriors' Watch Riders member, will read "I Am Your Flag," written by U.S. Marine Master Sgt. Percy Webb, as the U.S. and POW-MIA flags are raised.David Rider, assistant state coordinator of Warriors' Watch Riders for East Central Pennsylvania, will lead a recognition ceremony where "Welcome Home" certificates will be presented to a group of veterans - some who may never have heard those words before.The program will include musical performances by Angela Marie Nardini, who will perform the national anthem, and Dave Bray, a dedicated husband, father, musician and patriot who served in the U.S. Navy as an 8404 Fleet Marine Force Corpsman for the 2nd Battalion/2nd Marines (Surveillance and Target Acquisition unit). He will perform "God Bless America" and an acoustic set after the ceremony.To round out the music, local DJ Bruce Womer, a dedicated member of Warriors' Watch Riders, will be spinning some tunes after the ceremony.All-American BBQ will be provided by Mission BBQ, who believes there is nothing more American than BBQ and nobody more American than the brave men and women who have sworn to protect and serve our country.
