Tamaqua Police have cited two people responsible for a side mirror smashing spree over the past two weekends in the borough.

More than 50 vehicles were damaged by the duo during that time.Dominic Montero, 21, of 154 Spruce St., Tamaqua, and his juvenile cousin spent the past two weekends joy riding, late at night, in a White Hyundai.Montero was the driver, while his accomplice used a cane to reach out of the passenger side window and strike side mirrors as they traveled up and down Tamaqua's streets.One of the victims from this past Saturday morning's spree was able to provide police with a description of the Hyundai and a license plate number after mirrors were smashed on Brown Street right before midnight.Officers found the car parked in the 100 block of Spruce Street and had the Hyundai impounded after finding a scratched, dented, cane and pieces of mirror inside the car.Montero later admitted to the crimes after being read his Miranda warning and signed a statement admitting his guilt.He was charged with multiple counts of criminal mischief.His partner faces similar charges in juvenile court.
