Police report Monroe crashes

State police at Lehighton reported investigating the following crashes on Monroe County roads recently.

A one-vehicle crash was reported at 12:34 p.m. June 17 along Long Mountain Road, near Kreger Road in Polk Township. Troopers said Alycia Gatling, 18, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet northbound and up a hill with a curve to the left when the vehicle went onto the berm and into an embankment. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest. Gatling and passengers Morgan Lockwitch, 18, of Kunkletown, and Joseph Loffio, 18, of Effort, all sustained minor injuries but did not require immediate medical attention.Gatling was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.A one-vehicle crash occurred around 4 a.m. June 22 along Point Phillips Road in Eldred Township. Corey L. Smale, 43, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2009 Dodge Avenger southbound and failed to negotiate a right-hand curve in the road. The vehicle left the road and struck a tree. Smale was not injured.Another one-vehicle crash occurred at 8:32 p.m. Friday in the area of 121 Goodtimes Lane in Eldred Township. Mitchell James Gardler, 21, of Brookhaven, Delaware County, was operating a motorcycle when a deer entered the road in front of him. The bike struck the deer and Gardler was thrown from the bike. He was injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance.A two-vehicle crash was reported at 3:33 p.m. Sunday along Route 115 at Lake Road in Ross Township. Troopers said Matthew A. Morton, 26, no address given, was eastbound while Joseph Lindsay Snyder, 64, no address given, was stopped at Lake Road. Morton's vehicle rear-ended Snyder's. No one was reported injured. Troopers cited Morton for driving too fast for conditions.
