Parole and probation revocation hearings held

Carbon County judges conducted parole and probation revocation hearings on petitions filed by the adult probation office against defendants who have violated the terms of their release.

Jarred West, 24, of Lehighton, had his probation revoked on a charge of flight to avoid apprehension on petition of probation officer Jillian C. McGinley for violating conditions by failing to report to the probation office as directed, testing positive for marijuana on two separate occasions in violation of the zero-tolerance provision, and failing to obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II resentenced West to serve one to four months in the county prison. The order states he must serve the full four months, which runs to July 23.Corey Rehrig, 26, of Jim Thorpe, had his probation revoked on a charge of receiving stolen property on petition of probation officer Toby Butz for violating conditions by not having a verifiable address and testing positive for opiates.Judge Steven R. Serfass resentenced him to serve 40 to 80 days in the county prison effective April 1. The order states Rehrig must serve the full 80 days.John Tworkowsky, 22, of Lehighton, had his probation revoked on a charge of theft by unlawful taking on petition of McGinley for violating conditions by failing to report to the probation office as directed, not reporting for urine screens as directed on a consistent basis, testing positive for opiates, and failing to obtain drug and alcohol evaluation.Serfass resentenced him to serve four to 12 months in the county prison effective March 19.Kerri Blasko, 47, of Coaldale, had her parole revoked on a theft by failure to make required disposition of funds charge on petition of probation officer Clifford Eckhart for violating conditions by not making a concerted effort to pay court costs.Judge Joseph J. Matika resentenced her to serve six months back time in the county prison with credit for 29 days already served.Revoked from ARDThree defendants who were previously placed in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program as first-time offenders were revoked from the program for violating conditions.Justin Conklin, 20, of Lehighton, was revoked from the program on charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and harassment on petition of McGinley by violating conditions of testing positive for opiates.Nanovic ordered the case placed on the next available trial list.Travel Greenzweig, 26, of Summit Hill, was revoked from the program on a charge of possession of a controlled substance on petition of Eckhart for violating conditions by being charged with a new criminal offense, testing positive for a controlled substance, attempting to submit a false drug screen, failing to pay court costs, failing to attend and complete drug and alcohol treatment, and failing to complete 50 hours of community service.Matika ordered the case placed on the next available trial list.Kandis Exner, 45, of Lehighton, was revoked from the program on a charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on petition of McGinley for violating conditions by testing positive for a controlled substance.Serfass ordered the case placed on the next available trial list.
