Children are drawn to the North and Middle Ward Playground, seen here Thursday, part of a network of Tamaqua recreational areas that include Kellner's Dam, Owl Creek Upper and Lower dams, Rabbit Run Reservoir, Dutch Hill Playground, Willing Park, Bungalow Park, Howard Buehler Memorial Pool, East End Park and South Ward Playground. Most of theplaygrounds are owned by the borough and operated by volunteer groups, many of which are searching for additional manpower. At the North and Middle Ward Playground, volunteers have been working to spruce up the facility, including cleaning the refreshment standfollowing flooding rains in late June.
