They had arrived at Moyer's house to check out a report of a domestic dispute between Moyer and his parents when Moyer took off.The troopers followed him, and, after losing sight of his car, crested Ringtown Road when they saw headlights coming toward them. As the car approached, it accelerated and veered into their lane. The troopers accelerated and swerved to the right. Moyer's vehicle struck the troopers' vehicle in the driver's side rear door with the front of the Malibu. The impact spun the cruiser counterclockwise before it struck a tree with the passenger side. Moyer was taken into custody without incident. The troopers' 2014 Ford Interceptor SUV was totaled. They were taken to a hospital, where they were treated and released. Moyer, too, was hospitalized before being taken to jail.An examination revealed that the Malibu accelerated five seconds before impact. There was no braking, and the Malibu's approximate speed at impact was 91 mph, police said.
