Groundbreaking ceremonies were held in anticipation of the new Northwestern Lehigh Middle School which is anticipated to open at the start of the 1992 school year.

Among the principal participants were Dr. David Fallinger, superintendent of schools; Carl D. Snyder, president of the district's board of directors; Deborah Peters, president of the Northwestern Lehigh Education Association; and Jodi Dellicker, student council president.Ground was broken by Snyder, Carl Betz and Ken Kistler, members of the school board's buildings and grounds committee.
