The Lehighton 150 Celebration Committee will hold The History of Lehighton, Part 2, at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Pfc. Clyde R. Houser Jr. Building/Borough Annex.

Lehighton's Sesquicentennial will occur next year. The committee wants to raise $55,000 for an eight-day celebration to commemorate the 150 years of the borough.Some facts about Lehighton:In 1915, the Lehigh Valley Railroad Co. constructed the Packerton Dam due to the need of water for the steam engines.Reuben Hofford's contribution to Lehighton was the Carbon Academy.
