A Kunkletown driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence and drug counts following a crash that occurred at 10:05 p.m. Oct. 3 along 57 Road in Towamensing Township.

State police at Lehighton said Jeremy M. Long, 18, was driving a 2004 Toyota Corolla northbound at a speed too fast for conditions and subsequently the Toyota left the road.The vehicle traveled through a dense area of shrubs, went airborne, and landed in a ditch located near an open field.Long was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and is facing that charge. Troopers also found him in possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia and is facing additional drug charges.Long was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
