Matthew Fahringer of Lehighton was named a Delta Epsilon Chi Scholar at the 69th Commencement of Kingswood University, located in Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada.

Nominated by the faculty of the university, Fahringer was awarded membership in Delta Epsilon Chi, the honor society of The Association for Biblical Higher Education based in Florida.These students must excel academically, earning an average of not less than 3.3 in the four point system, and exhibit Christian character and leadership ability.Graduating with summa cum laude academic honors, Fahringer earned a bachelor of theology degree.Throughout his studies, he was a leader on campus, serving his fellow students in the Student Success Centre, playing keyboard for the university chorale, singing in the chamber choir and leading worship in chapel.Fahringer is currently serving as an intern at Calvary Wesleyan Church in Bethlehem. He is the son of Donald and Lynette Fahringer of Galeton.
