Zoners continue hearing Wednesday

A Lower Towamensing Township man will again seek permission to modify his home occupation to conduct repairs out of a garage.

Matthew Steinmetz will once again go before the township's zoning hearing board at 7 p.m. Wednesday in search of a special exception, which would also be used for storage related to the activity. At that time, Steinmetz will attempt to secure a special exception to modify his home occupation at 425 Hahns Dairy Road to conduct repairs out of a garage, and to use it for storage related to the activity. The property is located in an R-4 (Medium Density Residential) zoning district. A special exception is required to conduct a home occupation out of an accessory structure.Last month, zoners, at the urging of board solicitor Holly Heintzelman, unanimously granted Steinmetz a continuance after he did not have the list of property owners who live within 200-feet of his property line.Heintzelman suggested the board grant Steinmetz a continuance at that time because the board had no way of knowing the property owners were notified of that hearing.
