Committee reappointments OK'd

Carbon County commissioners approved a number of reappointments on various committees.

Dennis Yenser of Lehighton will again serve on the Airport Authority. The term is a five-year term, ending Dec. 31, 2019.Robin D. Cressley of Lehighton will serve as a public director in the Carbon County Conservation District for a four-year term.Commissioner Wayne Nothstein will serve as the commissioner representative on the Carbon County Conservation District. The term is for one year.Glenn Wagner Sr. of Lansford was reappointed to a five-year term on the Carbon County Housing Authority. The term ends Dec. 31, 2019.In other matters, the commissioners acted on the following items:• Approve a supplemental agreement with Navarro & Wright for construction inspection services regarding the replacement of bridge 16, located on Koch Road in Towamensing Township. The increase in contract is $65,369 for a new total of $167,824.89. The reason for the increase is due to a time extension in the project until May 12, 2015.• Approve a contract with Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau regarding advertising in the 2015 Pocono Mountains Campgrounds brochure. The cost is $950.• Approve a local elected officials agreement between Carbon, Monroe, Pike and Wayne counties outlining the terms and conditions of the counties' participation in the Pocono Counties Workforce Investment Area.• Approve the hiring of Catherine R. Nonnemacher of Jim Thorpe as a county caseworker I, Children and Youth Services, effective Dec. 8.• Approve the appointments of Desirae Berger of Nesquehoning and Brian McGinley of Jim Thorpe as part-time corrections officers at the Carbon County Correctional Facility, effective Dec. 8.
