Lehighton has been designated a USA Tree City for 21 years.

Welcoming Sara Wingert, the newest member of the Lehighton Shade Tree Commission, are from left, commission members Diane Hoffman, Wingert, Ken Leffler, Mark Hoffman and Lehighton Mayor Tom Mase. The Tree City USA program is a national program thatprovides the framework for community forestry management for cities and towns across America. Participating communitiesdemonstrate a commitment and caring for managing public trees. There are more than 3,400 Tree City USA communities.
