The Tamaqua Area High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee will induct its 18th class into the Hall of Fame which will include seven new individuals.

The event will take place Friday, Sept. 13 before the Blue Raiders' football team hosts Shenandoah Valley.The following is biographical information regarding the newest class into the Tamaqua Area High School Athletic Hall of Fame.CHRISTA DeANGELOMEMBER OF THE CLASS OF 1995*Member of the class of 1995 where she was a standout on the basketball court earning four varsity letters.*Upon her graduation she was 5th on the all-time scoring chart with 1,082 career points. She currently ranks 9th on the all-time girl's chart.*She scored 447 points and was the team leading rebounder her senior year. She was part of two District XI qualifying teams.*She was named to the Morning Call All-Area Team; Times News 1st team her junior and senior years; She participated in the Schuylkill County All-Star game her senior year. Named the NEPA High School Sports Show athlete of the week.*Played with the AAU Anthracite Action team in the national tournament.*Was also named the Most Valuable Player at the PA Hoops Round ball Showcase.*Upon graduation, she attended Park University, Parkville Missouri where she earned a bachelor's of science in Psychology. She served in the Army and Texas National Guard. She is an Iraq war veteran.*She has three children, Iris, Priscilla and Parker. She resides in St. Augustine, Florida.TRACY SMUDIN EARHARTMEMBER OF THE CLASS OF 2001*Tracy is a 2001 graduate and was a four year letter winner as a member of the girl's basketball team.*She recorded 1,017 career points which was good for 6th place on the girl's all-time scoring chart at the time of her graduation. She is currently 10th on the all-time scoring chart.*Her basketball teams qualified for the District XI playoffs her final three years. The 1999-2000 finished 23-6 and was the first 20 win season since 1986. That team played for the District XI Championship, falling to Allentown Central Catholic. The runner-up finish qualified the team for the PIAA state playoffs, where the Blue Raiders defeated Strath Haven in the first round before falling to Lancaster Catholic in the eastern quarterfinals. Was also the first team to play in the District championship game since 1979 and first trip to the state playoffs in 21 years.*In her senior campaign, she was named captain and led the team to a 22-4 season. This team qualified for the District playoffs and lost to Allentown Central Catholic in the finals.*She was named to the Sch. League First team and was named athlete of the week multiple times.*She continued her education at East Stroudsburg University where she graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Health and Physical education. She received her Master's degree of Science in Education from Wilkes University in 2011.*She is currently a Health and Physical Education teacher in the Weatherly Area School District. She also serves as Weatherly's head girl's junior high basketball coach.*She is the daughter of Gary and Shirley Smudin and is married to Damien Earhart. She resides in Quakake.RANDI WAGNER BRADYMEMBER OF THE CLASS OF 2001*Randi is a member of the class of 2001 where she was a standout in four sports where she earned four varsity letters in swimming and track and field, three letters in cross country and one in tennis for a total of 12.*In her senior year, she qualified for the PIAA State Championships in three sports…Cross Country, Swimming and track.*Upon her graduation, she held 5 swimming records and one track record. In swimming she held the school record in 100 yard butterfly, 200 yard I.M., 200 yard freestyle relay, 200 yard medley relay and the 400 yard free style relay. She was part of the school record holding 4x800 meter relay team with a time of 9:46.25 - a record which still exists.*She was a member of the 1998 Schuylkill League champion swim team.*She was also a two-time Schuylkill League champion as a member of the 4x800 meter relay team. The 2001 relay team finished 2nd at the District XI championships and 4th at the PIAA State Championships.*After graduation she went to West Chester University where she graduated Cum Laude majoring in Kinesiology in 2006. She played rugby in college and was a member of the Phi Epsilon Kappa Honors Fraternity.*She resides in Phoenixville, PA and is married to Kevin Brady. They have two daughters Karter (2) and Averi (4 months old). She is a Health and Physical Education teacher at Graystone Academy.AMANDA FENKNERMEMBER OF THE CLASS OF 2004*Amanda is a 2004 graduate and was a four year letter winner in both basketball and track.*In basketball she was a 1,000 point scorer where she finished with 1,112 points good for 5th on Tamaqua's all-time scoring chart at the time of her graduation. She currently ranks 8th on our all-time chart.*She was a member of the 2000-01 basketball team with fellow inductee Tracy Smudin that went 22-4 and qualified for the District XI playoffs. The 2002-03 basketball team also qualified for the District XI playoffs, losing to So. Lehigh in the first round. The 2003-04 squad went 15-12 overall played in the District XI finals, losing to Allentown Central Catholic but qualified for the first round of the PIAA State tournament where the Blue Raiders fell to Nanticoke.*She was named to the 2004 Pottsville Republican, Morning Call, Times News, and Hazleton Standard Speaker All Area 1st teams. Was also named Blue Ridge TVs Female Athlete of the Week and Schuylkill County All-Star game MVP.*In track and Field, she participated in the triple jump, long jump, 100 meter dash, and 4x100 meter relay team.*She attended Alvernia University where she graduated with a double major in Business Marketing and Sports Management. She played basketball while at Alvernia and was a member of the 2005 PAC Championship team.*After graduating college, she worked as a Sales Executive for the Philadelphia 76ers and then worked as Director of Sales and Ticket Operations for the Washington Redskins for the past five years.*She is the daughter of Sheila Davison and Bill Fekner. She resides in Silver Spring, Maryland and has recently accepted a position at an Executive Search Firm in Virginia.MEGAN INAMAMEMBER OF THE CLASS OF 2008*Megan graduated in 2008 and was a standout in both soccer and track and field earning 8 varsity letters.*In soccer, she was a member of the best girls soccer team in school history her senior year when the team went 20-1-1 in 2007. That team was Schuylkill League Division 1 and overall Schuylkill League champions. That team won 17 straight games.*Her senior year she was captain, Pottsville Republican co-player of the year, Times News First team forward, and Sch. League Division 1 all-star first team forward.*Her junior year she was named to the Pottsville Republican All-Area second team, Sch. League Girls All-League team forward.*The 2005 and 2006 soccer teams were Schuylkill League runners-up. The 2006 team was also District XI silver medalists. During her four years, the soccer team had a combined 56-27-2 record.*She ended her soccer career 7th on the all-time soccer scoring chart with 33 career goals.*In track and field, the girls' teams were undefeated all four years (32-0 in dual meets), winning Schuylkill League championships all four years.*She was a four-time PIAA State qualifier…she participated at the state meet over those four years in the 4x100, 4x400, long jump, triple jump and 200 meter dash.*In her sophomore year she finished 10th at states in the long jump….her junior year she finished with a District XI silver as a member of the 4x100 meter relay team, 3rd in the long jump and 5th in the triple jump. At states she finished 19th in the triple jump.*Her senior year, she was the Schuylkill League champion in the 100, long jump and triple jump…League silver medalist on 4x400 meter relay team. At Districts, she placed second on 4x400 relay, 3rd in the 100 meter dash and 5th in the triple jump. At the state championships, she placed 17th in the triple jump and 26th on the 4x400 meter relay team. She was the Pottsville Republican 1st team member in the long jump and 4x100 relay.*After graduation, she attended King's College where she obtained a Bachelor's of Science in athletic training. She was a three year starter for King's in soccer as an outside back and left wing. She was King's Women's Soccer scholar athlete in 2012.*She furthered her education at the University of Virginia where she earned a Master's of Education in Kinesiology this past August.*She is currently the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Lebanon Valley College. She is the daughter of Kathy and the late Francis "Spirit" Inama. She is the finace of Mark Streisel to wed in June of 2014. She resides in Nesquehoning, PA.CASEY WAGNERMEMBER OF THE CLASS OF 2008*Casey is also a member of the class of 2008 and was a standout in tennis and basketball for four years, track and field for three years and softball for one.*She was the number one tennis player all four years.*In basketball she was a 1,000 point scorer ending her career with 1,151 career points which was good for 6th place on the all-time scoring chart upon her graduation. She currently is 7th all-time on that list. All four years the basketball team qualified for the District XI playoffs.*Casey stood out in track and field primarily in the javelin. As a sophomore, she was a silver medalist in the Javelin and was a member of the District XI champion 4x400 meter relay team. At the PIAA state championships she placed 5th in the javelin, 13th as a member of the 4x400 meter relay team and 14th in the long jump. The relay team set a school record with a time of 4:06.58 - a record which still exists today.*As a junior, she was District XI champion in the javelin and a member of the silver medalist 4x400 meter relay team. At the PIAA state championships, she placed 4th in the javelin.*As a senior, she was a gold medalist at the Schuylkill League and District XI championships and was a PIAA state silver medalist in the javelin.*Her three years on the track team, the girls went undefeated, winning the Schuylkill League championship all three years.*As a freshman she was a starter of the softball team, playing right field.*She continued her education on a track and field scholarship to University of South Florida where she was a standout javelin thrower. She was named to the women's Division I All-Academic track and field team several times…she placed 3rd at the Big East Championships as a senior in the javelin…school record holder with a throw of 160-4…as a junior she placed 2nd at the Big East championships and 17th at the NCAA East preliminaries. As a sophomore she became the school's first ever national qualifier in the javelin (men or women). As a freshman, she placed 2nd at the Big East championships. She was also USFs first ever USA Track and Field Junior national champion. She was a two-time recipient of the USF Outstanding Female Field athlete of the year award.*She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's of Science degree in physical education.*She currently resides in Quakake.TRAVERS SCHMIDTMEMBER OF THE CLASS OF 2008*As the third member of the class of 2008 being inducted into this year's Hall of Fame, Travers was a three sport standout in football, swimming and baseball earning 12 varsity letters.*In football, he was a team captain and all-purpose player on both sides of the ball. Offensively he was a standout quarterback and also running back. He was first team all-anthracite football league, Schuylkill County Coaches Association Defensive Most Valuable Player; first team linebacker for both the Hazleton Standard Speaker and the Times News.*As Tamaqua's salutatorian, he was named the Schuylkill County Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete of the Year. He is only the third Tamaqua football player to achieve that honor in the 51 year history of the award.*In swimming, he was the team captain and a District XI silver medalist as a member of the 200 medley relay team which set the school record with a time of 1:44.77 - a record which still stands. He also earned a bronze in the 50 free style. The team earned District XI silver. His senior year the boys team captured the school's first ever Schuylkill League championship. He also is a member of the school record holding 400 free relay team with a time of 3:27.60. He was the Schuylkill League Swimmer of the Year his senior year.*In baseball, he was a four year starter playing the outfield, catcher, first base and pitcher. Was team captain and led the team in batting average his junior and senior years. The 2005 squad was District XI silver medalists. He was the Times News Baseball Player of the Year.*After graduating, he continued his academic and athletic career at Cornell University where is graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Science in Biological Engineering. He played football while at Cornell and played in 4 varsity games as a sophomore making 11 tackles at strong safety. He tore his ACL in his junior year ending his football career.*He is currently employed in the Management Development Program at Brooks Instrument in Hatfield, PA. He resides in Milford Square, PA.
