State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on three crashes investigated by troopers on Wednesday, Oct. 2, on Schuylkill County roads.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 12:50 p.m. along SR125 in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Andrew S. Stevens, 22, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2004 Jeep Liberty southbound and approaching the intersection with Mountain Road, when he attempted to turn left onto Mountain Road. He failed to negotiate the turn due to excessive speed, troopers said.

The Liberty struck the guide rail on the right side. After impact Stevens fled the scene and failed to notify the property owner or police. A witness provided troopers with the vehicle owner which led to Stevens' identity.

Troopers said he was cied for the crash including driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.

A two vehicle crash was reported at 4:13 p.m. along SR61 in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said Barry J. Leibensperger, 50, of Schuylkill Haven, was stopped in the right lane southbound due to a school bus dropping off students. At the same time Mark C. Pullano, 60, of Reading, was southbound behind Leibesperger.

Pullano failed to stop in time and the front of his 2004 Chevrolet Astro hit the right rear portion of Leibensperger's 2013 Kia Optima.

Leibensperger sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention while Pullano was not injured.

Troopers cited Pullano for following too closely.

A two vehicle crash occurred about 6:02 p.m. at the intersection of SR209 and Yohe St., in Porter Township. Troopers said Bruce L. Bender II, 40, of Tower City, was westbound while Helen C. Limbert, 60, of Valley View, was eastbound on 209. Bender failed to negoitate a right turn from 209 onto Yohe. The front of Bender's vehicle it the front of Limbert's car.

No one was injured. Troopers cited Bender for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
