West End beats Americans

West End overcame an early deficit to defeat Keystone American 4-1 in the opening round of the 16-18 State Babe Ruth Tournament.

BABE RUTH 16-18West End-Keystone AmericansKeystone jumped out to an early lead in the first, as starting pitcher Josh Kern knocked in Anthony Rossino with an RBI single.But West End would roar back, scoring runs in three of the next four innings.Robbie Klein got West End on the board in the third with an RBI double that brought in Evan Moore, who led off with a double of his own, to tie the game 1-1.Ethan Moore started the fourth with a bang, slamming a solo homer off Kern to put West End up 2-1.Robbie Klein got his second RBI of the game in the fifth to give West End a 3-1 lead.Keystone had its best chance to make a comeback in the bottom of the inning, as Dane Ciavarella and AJ Wenrich started the inning with back-to-back walks and later stole second and third to move into scoring position.
