A 49-year old Monroe County man is dead after a raging fire leveled his rustic wood cabin early Sunday morning. The fire was first reported just after 2 a.m. when neighbors and passers-by saw flames shooting from the remote area of the Pocono Heights development just off Coolbaugh Road north of Marshall's Creek. It was later discovered the flames were that of a rustic log cabin burning to the ground along Pocono Drive with the victim trapped inside. A friend of the victim said the cabin had no electric or water but did have a wood-burning stove. State police were on scene Sunday morning including a K-9 which was used to search for evidence at the scene. The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative of the Monroe County Coroner's Office just after 5 a.m., was identified by friends as Dale Miller.
