The following actions have been filed by credit card companies, or their collection agencies, for alleged defaults on credit card/loan accounts.

Accident suits

Ronald Gilbert and Carol Withers, 120 Whispering Wood Drive, Palmerton, husband and wife, filed suit against Jody Lesher, 166 Lehigh St., Palmerton.

The suit states on July 29, 2010, Gilbert was a pedestrian on Covered Bridge Road when he was struck by a vehicle operated by the defendant. Negligence is alleged and sought are damages in excess of the "compulsory arbitration limits of Carbon County."

Jennifer Dowd, 61 Main Rd., Lehighton, filed suit against Gregory Scott, Box 1482, Saylorsburg R.1, Monroe County.

The suit states on Feb. 27, 2009, a crash occurred along SR248 in Lower Towamensing Township. The suit alleges the defendant was the cause of the crash and sought are damages in excess of $50,000 on each of two counts.

The Jim Thorpe National Bank, 12 Broadway, Jim Thorpe, filed against Richard Fedrigo, 219 Center Ave., Jim Thorpe, over property at that address. Sought is $77,092.10 and continuing interest.

Midfirst Bank, 999 W. Grand Blvd., Oklahoma City, Okla., filed against Denise M. and David R. Silfies, 316 Columbia Ave., Palmerton, over property at that address. Sought is $83,992.69 and continuing interest.

GMAC Mortgage, 1100 Virginia Drive, Fort Washington, filed against Andrew W. Sauerzopf and Monika Sauerzopf, 528 Columbia Ave., Palmerton, over property at that address. Sought is $126,959.23 and continuing interest.

Wells Fargo Bank, 3476 Stateview Blvd., Fort Mill, S.C., filed against Raymond A. and Anna L. Brooks, 4530 Vera Cruz Rd., Center Valley, over property at 72 Deerview Drive, Jim Thorpe. Sought is $230,292.47 and continuing interest.

Legal bill

Schoffstall & Focht, 1987 Corporate Court, Orefield, filed suit against Andrea Houtsch, 368 W. Ridge St., Lansford, alleging she owes a bill for legal services provided by the plaintiff. Sought is $8,163.50.

Contract default

First Commonwealth Federal Creidt Union, 257 Brodhead Rd., Bethlehem, filed an action against Rodney W. Hughes, 3847 Forest Inn Rd., Aquashicola, alleging he defaulted on a motor vehicle installment sale contract. Sought is $10,238.27 plus interest, costs and fees.

Divorces started

Lauren Nenscel, 1945 W. Congress St., Allentown, filed against Joshua Nenscel, 938 Edgemont Ave., Palmerton. They were married June 30, 2006.

Jayson S. Thomas, Box 272, Parryville, filed against Melissa N. Thomas, 112 Walnut Ave., Somerset, Somerset County, N.J. They were married June 1, 2002.

Richard Edelman, 109 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, filed against Judy L. Edelman, 2101 N. First Ave., Whitehall. They were married Sept. 1, 1973.

Bill owed

Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 397 Hemlock Drive, Lehighton, filed an action against Samuel Citrano, same address.

The suit states the defendant entered into an agreement with the plaintiff to enter its facility and receive services. The suit states the defendant is still a resident at the center and allegedly owes a bill for services rendered to date of $81,085.70 plus interest, costs and fees.
