Firefighters and members of the East End Fire Company in Tamaqua held their 2nd annual Needy Family Fundraising Event recently to benefit 15 local families. The benefit raised food, toy and monetary donations, and was held at their firehouse. The event also consisted of donated entertainment by DJ Bud Wychulis. They also stated their appreciation to all who donated and helped. The fifteen families were chosen via local schools and organizations. Event organizers Tom and Michele McCarroll stressed the fire company's desire to help and give back to a giving community.
