Slatington police reported on two arrests made by officers recently, both alcohol-related.

On April 30 about 3:32 a.m. officers responded to the 200 block of Cherry Street for a report of a person staggering while walking in the middle of the street. On scene officers found Jeffery Strohl, 40, of 420 Lehigh Gap St., Walnutport.

Police said he was intoxicated and began causing a disturbance when he was stopped. He also had in his possession an open bottle of alcohol. He was placed under arrest and charged with public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and possession of an open container of alcohol.

On Tuesday, May 4, about 2:01 a.m. officers went to 425 Kuntz St. and found Alexandria Haas, 19, of 312 W. Church St., Slatington, had consumed alcohol. She was charged with purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of liquor or malt or brewed beverages.
