Divorces granted

Georgia Miller was granted a divorce from Joseph A. Miller, both of Schuylkill Haven. They were married Sept. 20, 1995.

Jennifer M. Oravitz, Ashland, was granted a divorce from Bradley J. Oravitz, Ringtown. They were married Oct. 5, 2007.

Sandra Waser was granted a divorce from William Wasser, both of Tremont. They were married Nov. 14, 1987.

Albert Trankle was granted a divorce from Lorie Trankle, both of Pottsville. They were married June 30, 2001.

Russell R. Klinger was granted a divorce from Jill Marie Kldinger, both of Ashland. They were married Dec. 12, 1987.

File for divorce

Lisa E. Sanphy, 300 W. Center St., Mahanoy City, started a divorce action against Patrick W. Sanphy, Box 211, Delano. They were married June12, 1999.

Thomas P. Schaefer Jr., 125 Penn St., Tamaqua, started a divorce action against Karenann E. Schaefer, 1251 Mount Hope Avenue, Pottsville. They were married Feb. 21, 2004.

File liens

Discovery Bank, Newburg, Ohio, filed a lien against Richard W. Neiklum, 18 E. Market St., of Sheppton, East Union Township, claiming he owes a balance on his credit card of $1,053.93.

FIA Card Services, Phoenix, Ariz., filed an action to court against Clarence H. Opolsky, 242 Clay St., Tamaqua, alleging he owes $11,577.86 on his credit card balance.

New passport fees

Prothonotary Peter J. Symons announced he has received notice from the U.=S. Department of State, Bureau of Consulmar Affairs, Passport Service, that passports for travel to countries across the oceans, Atlantic and Pacific, are increasing from $75 to $110 effective July 13. Passport cards to travel to Canada and Mexico are increased from $20 to $30.

Re-sentenced

Tyler J. Smith, 24, had his probation revoked by President Judge William E. Baldwin and was re-sentenced to serve 23 months on probation. He was given credit for spending 27 days in the county prison. Stricter conditions were placed on his release including he must attend AA meetings within 90 day, cannot consume any alcohol beverages during his probation period, and must submit to evaluation by the drug and alcohol agency and successfully complete any recommended treatment. Smith had pleaded guilty to forging a prescription to obtain additional drugs and last November was placed on probation.

Register of Wills

Michael M. McCord, Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphans' Court, reported on the following activities in his office for the month of June.

There were 75 estates processed; 80 marriage licenses issued; and five adoptions completed. There was $734,161.93 in inheritance tax remitted to the state and $21,762.25 in fees collected.
