A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges, including driving under the influence (DUI), following an incident that occurred about 5:05 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13.

State police at Frackville said Katherine Obrzut, of Morea, was driving a 1988 Chevrolet Celebrity northbound on SR1010, in Mahanoy Township, when the vehicle veered off the road and along the west berm where it became lodged on a tree trunk.

Obrzut showed signs of intoxication and was taken to the barracks for a breath test, which revealed she was over the legal limit of .08 percent. She will be charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic, not wearing a seat belt and DUI, troopers said.
