Passing out some holiday wishes

You better watch out, you better not pout ... why?

Well it's that time of year when good Ol' Santa Hedes takes his turn here in the Press Pass Column to find out who's been naughty or nice and we've had a little of both this year.I've received quite a list this year and believe it or not there are a few schools who have had some good things go their way and have had some bad things and a little excitement as well. It's only fair, just as "Jolly Old St. Nick" has taught us, that the good ones will get better wishes than the bad ones.As I've said in the past, our Holiday Wishes don't come in any particular order so don't think just because you may be at the top of the list means you've been the best this year. And as one certain person always ends his e-mails to me with a HA! Let's get on with this year's list. If you didn't make it, just as I've said in the past, you either haven't had a good moment, your wish is too big or you'll just have to wait until next year.JOE TOUT - Another Cody Remaley, Jake Kern and Matt Gill so he could have a repeat performance or better in 2011.PAT CRAMPSIE - A 6-8 transfer and some big games from the rest of his team to fill the bill for Brock Mitchell who is lost for the season ... Get well, Brock!ROBBIE FREY AND MIKE RYAN - A big game for the UConn Huskies in the Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma on New Year's Day.BOB FORD - First place in a Chili Cookoff somewhere because it's the best I've ever tasted.MIKE HROMYAK AND JOE BEREZWICK - A trip to Bruce Jordan for a certain day in March to see the Lady Raiders play their final game of the season.EMMETT McCALL - Tennis lessons so he'll be able to compete with his daughters, who are all members of the Northampton High team, this summer.PAUL McARDLE - An assistant coaching job somewhere next fall because he'll be missed on the Palmerton sidelines.CHRIS WALKOWIAK - That step up to the head job that McArdle vacated because he surely deserves the chance and is the best candidate to keep the program on the up and up.PAUL BRUTTO - A return to the state playoffs with his Marian Fillies.B.J. DUGAN - A couple of wins for his inexperienced Tigers to gain some respectability in the Colonial League again.JIMMY TERWILLIGER - A District 11 4A championship and another win over his old coach, Ed Christian as the Bears feed off an outstanding 2010 season.ROB KOVAC - A highlight film of the first part of the Lady Olympians' season so they can watch what they've doing as they've gone 7-0 thus far and keep it up.GEORGE EBBERT - A little more lovin' from the Lehighton brass than he got last year and a complete season free of injuries.JEFF MILLER - A successful ride with the Northern Lehigh boys basketball team that he has taken over the helm of.SHAWN McFARLAND - Since the Cowboys won't be making the post-season, a chance to jump on the Eagles bandwagon since he has Desean Jackson on his one fantasy team.MATT FALCONE - A good defensive coordinator under new head coach Steve Addazio at Temple so he can get some good playing time with the Owls next fall.TOM SMELAS - A pitcher or two who could last into the fifth inning so he can restore some faith back in the Palmerton baseball program.MICK STEFANEK - After a year off, another chance to coach a boys basketball team to respectability.JASON ZIMMERMAN AND KELLY BOLLINGER - Two XXL Philadelphia Phillies Cliff Lee shirts.KEN PIONTKOWSKI - His own "Rocking Chair" since he has the longest tenure of any boys basketball coach in the area.MARK ROSENBERGER - A turf football field so the Olympian coaching staff won't have muddy pants after each home game and we could hold interviews on dry ground.DON DELICH - A freshman basketball coach so he doesn't have to do double duty all season coaching two teams.SHAWN HINDY - A shot to take his field hockey knowledge to a higher level.ROD HECKMAN - A dollar for every "On This Date" he has come up with since we started that feature way back when.TOM LINETTE - Some big linemen so he can continue the great ride that the Northwestern football team has had over the years.DAVE LAVIN - A couple more wins so the Palmerton wrestlers have a shot to qualify for District Duals.STAN DAKOSTY - A good healthy football season in 2011 for his Colts since things didn't start out too well and some momentum into the off-season with the win over Tamaqua to end the schedule.NADIA GAURONSKY - A quick trip back to the post-season playoffs with the Lady Bears in just her second year as head coach.T.J. ENGLE - More speaking engagements like the one he had at Northern Lehigh this past summer.BRIAN CARROLL - Some good play from his big men inside to compliment the outside scoring of Dean DeBonifazio.DAVE OERTNER - Now that the Lady Bulldogs won't have to go through Central Catholic, a District 11 2A title.SAM BONNER - A good off-season in the weight room for the Blue Raiders so they can drive away the sour start and ending to the 2010 football season.TODD HERZOG - Another trip to Hershey and maybe a gold medal or two by some of his Northern Lehigh wrestlers.AND TO SCOTT PAGEL, LOU RUSNOCK, PETE CAR, KATIE McDONALD, ANDY STEINMETZ, MIKE FEIFEL, PATRICK DEUTSCH, BOB URBAN, BILL O'GUREK, DEN McLAUGHLIN, JOE PLASKO, RON GOWER, NANCY SCHOLZ, and anyone who I might have missed, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
