The West End Rotary will welcome Kevin Knoll as speaker at the club's Thursday, Dec. 9, 7:30 a.m. breakfast meeting at the Western Pocono Community Library. Knoll will speak about AFLAC.

The annual Chestnuthill Christmas Tree lighting and visit from Santa Claus will take place from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 10, at the Chestnuthill Township Park on Route 715.
Countryside Alliance Church, Route 115 and Countryside Drive, Brodheadsville across from PV Middle School) will host a Christmas puppet show with the Good News Puppets, at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11. Face painting and animal balloons will be part of this free program

"GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays" is a helpful, encouraging seminar for people facing the holidays after a loved one's death. The seminar will be held from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 12, at Mount Eaton Church in Saylorsburg. Child care is available upon request. There is no charge for this event.
The seminar features practical suggestions and reassurance through video interviews with counselors, grief experts and other people who have experienced the holidays after their loved one's death. Topics to be discussed include "Why the Holidays Are Tough," "What to Expect," "How to Prepare," "How to Manage Relationships and Holiday Socials" and "Using the Holidays to Help You Heal."
Those who attend will receive a free book with over 30 daily readings providing additional insights and ideas on holiday survival. Anyone struggling with depression, separation or divorce, or other difficulties may also benefit from the seminar.
All Sports Club
Pleasant Valley School District's All Sports Club meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 13, in the high school library.
The Korean War Veterans Association, Northeast Pennsylvania Chapter #109 is seeking new members. Any person who has seen honorable service in any of the armed forces of the United States, within Korea (Sept. 3, 1945 - June 25, 1950), in or out of Korea (June 25, 1950 - Jan. 31, 1955), or within Korea from Feb. 1, 1955 onwards, is eligible for membership. The chapter meets the second Tuesday of every month, 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post #927, Route 209, Gilbert. The next meeting is on Dec. 14.
