Blood drive

The Miller-Keystone blood drive at Palmerton Area High School on Monday drew 45 registrants, and 38 units of blood were collected. Cynthia Kester reached the 3-gallon level.Volunteers included Beverly Hargreaves, Gail and Ron Chabak, and the following National Honor Society members: Erika Beers, Lila Goodhile, Lauren Malik, Hannah Pepper, Kole Rodrigues, Gavin Scott, Vithusha Selva and Monica Wood.There will be a Miller-Keystone community blood drive Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the First United Church of Christ, next to Palmerton Borough Hall.Oldies DancePace-Makers Association will sponsor an Oldies Dance with "olde Friends" on Saturday from 7-10 p.m. at the West End Fire Company, Princeton Avenue in Palmerton.Doors open at 6 p.m. BYOB. Palmer PTO is sponsoring a craft fair, vendor blender, yard sale, basket social and bake sale event on from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Palmer Elementary School.Gaming GrottoLiving Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton, will hold its monthly Gaming Grotto on Friday and Nov. 20. They have board games, card games along with video games from Atair to Super NES to Xbox 360. They meet the second Monday of each month.American LegionPalmerton American Legion Post 269 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at the VFW Post, 2020 Forest Inn Road, Palmerton. The book they will be discussing is "At the Water's Edge" by Sara Gruen.
