Northampton Community College will offer “The Bartender Workshop,” which combines field trips, guest speakers, job opportunity postings and plenty of hands-on learning in the college’s newly renovated beverage training facility at the Fowler Family Southside Center, Room 507, 511 E. Third St., Bethlehem.
NCC alumni Robert van Thiel, beverage director at Molinari’s, and Lauren Givnin, bartender at 3rd & Ferry Fish Market, will take students from understanding the basics of drink recipes, the bar setup, concepts to key ingredients, speed techniques, etiquette bench marks, how to control the costumer experience and much more.
Students will get behind the bar in NCC’s training facility to build knowledge and confidence, culminating in the creation of their own signature drink recipe. Students will complete the PLCB RAMP Certification in this course.
The workshop will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. April 16 through May 14.
