Lehighton will accept bids for a project to spruce up its downtown park.

Bids are due to the borough by 10 a.m. Jan. 8 for improvements to Colonel Jacob Weiss Park.The upgrades are to include limited stormwater management improvements, new concrete paving and curb, restoration of existing features, and other indicated improvements.A pre-bid meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 17 prevailing time at the project site.The project is being financed in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Financing Authority.Terry Ahner
