DECEMBER 11, 1985The Carbon County Employees Retirement Board voted 3-2 to grant a cost-of-living increase for an estimated 80 retired county workers.Gilbert Gerhard, treasurer, recommended a 70 percent of the Consumer Price Index hike, which adds up to 2.8 percent increase, that option getting support from Commissioner Dean D.W. DeLong and Controller John Williams. Casting dissenting votes were commissioners Charles E. Wildoner and Albert U. Koch.The increase will cost $268,000 and will affect only those who retired before 1985. It represents the first such increase since 1980.
