The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber is looking forward to welcoming the Christmas season with a community tree lighting from 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Memorial Park on Main Street in Slatington.

In addition to the tree lighting, the season will be welcomed with luminarias throughout the area. Create your own or purchase a premade kit from the chamber for $5. Kits include luminary bags, sand and three battery-operated candles.The Northern Lehigh Community Band and Choir will provide music during the free community event.Luminarias can be purchased by emailing chamber's member relations liaison Alice Wanamaker:
