Members of the Palmerton Concourse Club delivered Christmas cheer on Thursday to senior residents.

Concourse Club member Vinita Horinko and treasurer Marge Porambo delivered a Christmas tree tray favor and ornament to 26 seniors receiving Meals on Wheels deliveries.Horinko and 10 other Concourse Club members created the ribbon Christmas trees. Each year, they come up with a different decoration to make for the seniors.Horinko said she found the ribbon tree design online and decided to try it. She said it was pretty easy to assemble with hot glue."Just a few burnt fingers," she said.One of the people Horinko and Porambo gave the Christmas trees to Anneliese Nadt, a resident of the Highrise apartments in Palmerton. Porambo takes Meals on Wheels deliveries to Nadt weekly and has developed a friendship with her.Meals on Wheels provides seniors with three meals a day for $7 a day - a hot lunch, a cold breakfast and sandwich meal for dinner, Porambo said."I'm not cooking anymore at my age," said Nadt, who is 87 years old. "I did enough cooking in my lifetime."In addition to the Christmas tree, Nadt received an ornament made from seashells.Porambo said the ornament was made by a former Concourse Club member who gathers the seashells on a beach in Florida. The ladies gasped at the ornament when Nadt opened it."It's a pretty little angel, just like you," Porambo said to Nadt."The gifts are beautiful," Nadt said appreciatively. "And the meals are always good."
