Richard M. Lukowsky, a former Palmerton native, retired after 20 years in civil service teaching aircraft maintenance at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas.

He is the son of Anna and Michael Lukowsky and was a resident of Palmerton until 1974.He graduated from Massapequa Park, New York, Boces, Powerplant/Airframe Technical School.He joined the United States Air Force in July 1974.He spent 11 years in the Air Force as an aircraft maintenance crew chief and the past nine years as an aircraft maintenance master instructor on the B-52 Bomber. His service career also included 20 years in civil service at SAFB as a master instructor on the B-52.He has been married to Sandra "Tia" Parry, also of Palmerton, for 41 years.They have two children, Nadia Garcia and Richard II; and five grandchildren, Isabella and Viviana Garcia, and Logan, Reagan and Justice Lukowsky.Rich and Tia reside in Henrietta, Texas.His retirement plans include spending time with his family and going bass fishing.
