Pa. reports 127,000 residents fully covered across six local counties
The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed Friday there were 2,757 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 944,196.
There are 1,628 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. Of that number, 350 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.
As of 11:59 p.m. Thursday, there were 43 new deaths identified by the Pennsylvania death registry, reported for a total of 24,262 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
Local vaccine numbers
Carbon County reported Friday that 3,617 people are partially covered, while 5,948 are fully covered.
Lehigh reported 29,492 partially, 39,806 fully.
Luzerne has 28,617 partially, 30,999 fully covered.
Monroe reported 7,022 partially, 8,738 fully.
Northampton has 30,068 partially covered, 30,769 fully.
Schuylkill reported 11,279 partially, 11,615 fully.
Pennsylvania residents ages 65-69 are most partially covered by vaccine to date. Ages 55-59 and 60-64, according to a DOH chart, are the age groups most fully covered.

• 417,024 male residents are partially covered, 297,088 are fully covered.
• 589,180 females partially covered, 536,487 fully covered.
Local COVID-19 numbers
Carbon County reported 4,928 cases, four more since Thursday. Deaths remain at 152.
Lehigh reported 31,137 cases, 162 more since Thursday. Two more deaths were reported for a total of 777.
Luzerne County reported 68 more cases since Thursday for a total of 25,165. Two more deaths were reported for a total of 741.
Monroe reported 9,885, an increase of 50 since Thursday. Two more deaths were reported for a total of 272.
Northampton reported a total of 27,286 cases Thursday, an increase of 73. Deaths remain at 651.
Schuylkill County reported 12,141 cases, 19 more since Thursday. Two more deaths were reported for a total of 371.

Carbon County has eight facilities with cases.
Lehigh reported 42 facilities with cases.
Luzerne County reported 49 venues with cases.
Monroe has 11 facilities with cases.
Northampton reported 39 facilities with cases.
Schuylkill reported 19 facilities with cases.
