Lehighton Borough Council took the following action on Monday:
• Agreed to purchase a new police server in the amount of $15,000.
• Approved a proposal in the amount of $8,000 for engineering phase 2 and 3 for the proposed Public Works facility.
• Tabled discussion on the installation of an electric door lock/release at the police station squad room.
• Adopted a resolution authorizing the sale of a vacant parcel on Lehigh Drive (for the roughly 5,173 square feet behind the existing RJ Walker Building), pending completion of a subdivision.
• Agreed to continue with an engineering phase and study concerning the reconstruction of Division Alley.
• Accepted the resignation of Edward Powell as health inspector.
• Approved the Barry Isett and Associates proposal for health inspection services at the rate of $65 per hour.
• Approved the Jim Thorpe street sweeper services agreement.
• Approved the borough’s emergency management plan.
