Kindergarten registration for the 2021-2022 school year for the Palmerton Area School District will be held at the Parkside Education Center school office, 680 Fourth St., Palmerton.
Individual appointments will not be scheduled this year.
Times for registration will be on April 7 and April 8 from 4-7 p.m., and on April 9 from 1-4 p.m. Parents/guardians will be seen in the order that they arrive.
One parent in the vestibule at a time, and all parents waiting must maintain social distancing regulations. The wearing of masks is required. Registration is for parents or guardians only; your child does not need to attend as registration is to gather appropriate information from you.
Your child must be 5 years of age on or before Sept. 1, to attend kindergarten. Parents will need to have the child’s birth certificate or other acceptable proof of age. Proof of immunizations including 4 doses of Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (one dose on or after 4th birthday), 4 doses of Polio, 3 doses of hepatitis B, 2 doses of Measles, Mumps and Rubella (German measles) and 2 doses of Varicella (chickenpox) or evidence of immunity.
Parents will need two forms of ID to prove residency in the district. Parents are to complete the kindergarten registration packet, which can be found on the district website at www.palmerton.org before coming to register their child.
At registration you will receive information about the kindergarten screening process. The date of Parkside’s screening will be June 11. Screening date for Towamensing will be June 16.
