Walnutport Borough Council took the following action recently:

• Retained Scott Ledo as code enforcement officer, $3,600.

• Retained Michael Wentz as grant coordinator, $5,100. Councilwoman Jennifer Wentz abstained from the vote.

• Retained Sean Corey as zoning officer/building code officer, $7,200.

• Confirmed fire police for the Diamond Fire Company and the Borough of Walnutport.

• Authorized the Diamond Fire Company to engage in fundraising activities; participate in mutual aid with any local municipalities/fire companies; and authorizing the fire police to serve during nonemergency functions in 2021.

• Reappointed Earl Snyder, Michael Newhard, and Kevin Rex to the borough’s Planning Commission board.

• Appointed Hali Kuntz to a three-year term on the Slatington Public Library board of directors.

• Announced there are still openings on the borough’s zoning hearing board, as well as the borough’s UCC & Property Maintenance Appeal Board. Anyone interested may send their letter of interest to the borough office at 417 Lincoln Ave., Walnutport, PA 18088.

• Agreed to send delinquent real estate taxes in the amount of $37,575 to Northampton County for collection, and delinquent per capita tax in the amount of $3,377 to Berkheimer for collection.
