Breakfast with Santa

Parryville Fire Company No. 2 will be hold a breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday. Santa will be there to greet the children. In conjunction with the breakfast a blood drive will also be held at the fire company from 7 a.m. to noon.Knitting ClubThe Knitting Club will meet from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 7, in the conference room of the Palmerton Area Library. The club is free and open to anyone interested in knitting, crocheting or other fiber crafts regardless of skill level.Open houseChristmas Open House at the Palmerton Hospital, 135 Lafayette Ave., will be held at the entrance to the Owl's Nest Gift Shop, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. Refreshments will be served. The event is sponsored by the Palmerton Hospital Auxiliary.Santa in the ParkSanta Claus will greet the children in the Palmerton Borough Park from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, during the Christmas in the Park Celebration. Each child will receive a "goodie bag" from Santa and a chance to win prizes, such as new bikes and wagons.Christmas carolingThe Annual CACPAC Christmas Caroling in the Park will be held at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, following the lighting of the Christmas trees. This is a public singalong and all are invited to attend. Nonperishable food items will be collected for the CACPAC food pantry during the park celebration. Donations of new unwrapped toys will be accepted for Toys For Tots.Advent serviceAdvent Communion Service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Sunday at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville). Following the service a Family Christmas Festival will be held with tree decorating, caroling and family fun.Ecumenical serviceThe 10th Annual Ecumenical Service will be held at the Little White Church, Third Street and Columbia Avenue, Palmerton, at 3 p.m. Sunday. All are invited to attend. The church is maintained and owned by the Palmerton Area Historical Society.Winter parkingParking regulations in the Palmerton Borough following a snow accumulation of 2 or more inches are as follows: Park on the odd side of the street on an odd numbered calendar day. Park on the even side on an even numbered day.The time to move your vehicle for the next day's rule is between 7 and 8 p.m.The odd-even parking regulation continues 48 hours after the snowfall has ended.Christmas serviceThe annual ecumenical Christmas service at Palmerton's Little White Church, Third Street and Columbia Avenue, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday.All are invited to celebrate the season. Some off-street parking is available on the north side of the church, and a walkway leads to a handicapped-accessible door into the church.The service will be conducted by the Rev.
