Schuylkill County Commissioners and the Schuylkill County Mental Health/Developmental Services and Drug & Alcohol Programs launched a monthly awareness project.
Each month the Schuylkill County Mental Health/Developmental Services and Drug & Alcohol Programs will be offering their support to various national, state and local health and human services issues. Banners will hanging in front of both the Schuylkill County Courthouse, 401 N. 2nd St., Pottsville and Human Services Complex Building, 410 N. Centre St., Pottsville, in an effort to bring awareness to many issues facing the community.
The idea was presented after discussions on how to reach the community and bring awareness to Human Services being offered in the community including Mental Health, Crisis Services, Developmental Disabilities and Drug and Alcohol Recovery programs.
Members of the community can contact the Schuylkill County Administrative Offices of Mental Health/Developmental Services and Drug & Alcohol Programs for more information on the services being offered at 570-621-2890.
The effort is to provide prevention and treatment services for multiple issues.
“We want people to know they are not alone in their efforts to address mental health, substance use disorder, abuse, neglect and/or disabilities within their families,” the groups said in a statement.
