The Carbon County Friends of Animals shelter in Jim Thorpe is in desperate need of donations for the upcoming winter season.

The shelter must sell 600 of its one-year lottery tickets in the next few weeks. The Carbon County based nonprofit will set up at Country Junction on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. to sell tickets.The shelter will also have a Christmas fundraiser Dec. 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Carbon Plaza Mall where it will sell Erin's Chocolate candies/fudge, along with a raffle and the remaining lottery tickets.
