Marion Bacher, a resident of Heritage Hill Senior Community in Weatherly, is celebrating her 91st birthday.

She was born in Freeland on Dec. 19, 1924, and is the daughter of the late William and Mary (Grohol) Troell. She has four sisters; four brothers; one daughter, Sherri Lynn (Bacher) Dushanko; and two grandchildren, Cameron and Olivia.Marion worked in various area garment factories for 10 years. In 1942, during World War II, she worked for RCA in Camden, New Jersey, on the assembly line doing cable lacing and electrical soldering using a hot iron and carbon pencil.Marion met and fell in love with Bryon Bacher during the war when he was home on leave. They were eventually married on June 7, 1947, in St. John's Reformed Church in Freeland. They built a house in St. Johns, where they lived for 61 years until Bryon's passing in 2008.As a housewife and mother, Marion enjoyed cooking and baking. She and Bryon would spend their days together planting flowers on every inch of soil they could find.She is very active at Heritage Hill and cherishes the friendships she has made.
