Carbon County court — ARD
Three first-time offenders in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Thursday by Judge Steven R. Serfass.
If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.
All were placed for a year.
Devon Achey,
18, of Lansford, was placed on a charges of defiant trespass and criminal mischief. He was arrested for an incident on Dec. 10, 2019, by Lansford police in the area of the Silberline property along Dock Street.
He was assessed $450 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and make restitution to the Lansford police for $23.42.
Christa R. Leister,
28, of Lewistown, Mifflin County, was placed on a charge of simple assault. He was arrested on Nov. 26, 2019, by Jim Thorpe police.
She was assessed $650 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and render 50 hours of community service.
Christine A. Parrish,
41, of Morea, Schuylkill County, was placed on a charge of materially false written statement in making a purchase of a firearm. She was charged by Mahoning Township police for an incident at the Walmart store on Oct. 24, 2019.
She was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.
Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
