Defendants in pending drug-related cases entered guilty pleas before Judge Joseph J. Matika in county court this week.

Samantha Lynn Wilson, 24, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance-methamphetamine, and in a second case, she pleaded to one count of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.She was arrested on the drug charge on July 23, 2014, in the parking lot of the Walmart store in Mahoning Township. Township police responded to a report of a female unconscious in a vehicle. Wilson was the female. When police were investigating the incident they found methamphetamine in the vehicle along with various drug paraphernalia. Wilson admitted to police she was selling the meth.The DUI occurred on June 6, 2014, along Bridge Street in Lehighton, where she was stopped by state police at Lehighton.Matika deferred sentencing and ordered a PSI by the adult probation office. She must also get a drug and alcohol evaluation for the DUI charge.Trenton A. Bors, 22, of Emmaus, pleaded to one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.He was arrested after being stopped for speeding along East Main Street by Weatherly police. Marijuana and a smoking pipe were found in the car.Matika placed him on probation for a year on each count, running concurrently, and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and render 50 hours of community service.Martin J. Bishop, 49, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of possession of a controlled substance and several summary motor vehicle code violations.He was arrested on Nov. 11 in the area of 20 W. Main St. by Weatherly police. In a plea bargain charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility were dropped.Bishop, who is currently an inmate in the county prison, is facing criminal complaints in Lehigh and Northampton counties.On the drug charge Matika sentenced him to time served (34 days) to one year in jail and ordered he render 50 hours of community service when released on parole, get a D&A evaluation, and zero tolerance for D&A use. On the summary offenses he was fined a total of $610.Although paroled on the Carbon charges, he will not be released from custody as Northampton County has a detainer on him and he will be transferred to that county's prison.Victory Barry Craig Jr., 38, of McAdoo, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. A charge of acquiring a controlled substance by misrepresentation was dropped. He was arrested on Nov. 15, 2014, by Nesquehoning police after his vehicle was found in ditch along Route 93.He was placed on probation for a year and ordered to render 50 hours of community service when released from custody, get both a D&A and mental health evaluations and zero tolerance for D&A use.He is currently an inmate in the Schuylkill County prison.Collin Kline Evans, 28, of White Haven, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Aug. 9 along East Main Street by Weatherly police following a traffic stop. He was a passenger in the vehicle.Matika placed him on probation for six months and ordered he render 25 hours of community service and get a D&A evaluation.Eli Daniel Suveg, 22, of Lansford, pleaded to one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Dec. 20, 2014, by Summit Hill police. Police responded to 307 Lansford Court for a report of an assault. On scene police found meth. The victim of the assault agreed to a simple assault charge being dropped in a plea bargain. Suveg was previously placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program but was revoked for repeatedly testing positive for illegal substances.Matika placed him on probation for a year on each count, running concurrently, and ordered he render 50 hours of community service and get a D&A evaluation.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
