A Tamaqua woman who police say told a teenager who was a witness in a felony drug charge against she’d “split her head open” is now serving two to five years in state prison.

Ivette Roman, 55, pleaded no contest on Sept. 9 to two felony charges of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; and misdemeanor counts of intent to possess a controlled substance and possession of marijuana on June 13.

Schuylkill County Court Judge Christina E. Hale sentenced her to serve the time in state prison. The misdemeanor charges against her were dropped.

Borough Police Officer Michael G. Weaver arrested Roman on the drug counts on June 23, 2025.

District Judge Stephen J. Bayer set bail at $25,000 percentage. That same day, bail was posted.

But on July 26 of this year, Schuylkill County Court Judge William L.J. Burke revoked her bail and set a new amount of $350,000 percentage, meaning that she’d have to post $35,000 to be let out of jail.

The revocation followed Roman’s having been charged on July 23 for intimidating the teenager and making terroristic threats against her.

According to borough police, Roman had been “openly hostile” toward the teen, telling the girl that “if I’m going to jail, it’s going to be for a good reason.”

Roman is serving her state time at Muncy.
