Letter to the Editor: No tire burning in Nesquehoning

Dear TN editor and readers,

I live in Mahoning Township, but I breathe air that is downwind from Nesquehoning. I am totally opposed to allowing Panther Creek Power Plant to burn tires, releasing highly noxious and toxic chemicals, including at least seven known carcinogens, into the air, to fuel its cryptocurrency mining operation. Further, Panter Creek does not monitor its emissions. Have you ever smelled tires burning? Does it smell like something we should be breathing every day? And, maybe most egregious, there is no benefit to local residents. A New York company wants to come to this beautiful pristine area and pollute the air we breathe for the benefit of ... Who? I say no!
