AARP grant to NCC helps older workers

Through a new grant from the AARP Foundation, Northampton Community College is providing the Back to Work 50+ program. This national initiative is designed to help older workers build the skills and confidence needed to compete for high-quality jobs in today’s ever-changing job market.

“NCC is thrilled to be working with the AARP Foundation Back to Work 50+ program as we recognize the tremendous value that older workers bring to our community. This program will provide our older workforce with the necessary tools and resources to succeed and bridge the gap to new and exciting career opportunities,” said Associate Dean of Community Education at NCC, Audree Chase.

Unemployed people over 50 who are seeking assistance in connecting with the right resources to land a job, can attend a free in-person or online Back to Work 50+ workshop to get the skills and support they need in this competitive job market. The overview workshop will also explain how to apply for the Back to Work 50+ coaching program. Participants in the program will have access to job seeking opportunities and direct interaction with career coaches - all for free.

Overview Workshops are scheduled June 1, Aug. 24 and Oct. 12.
