Emergency personnel rescue man who fell down embankment at Beltzville

A man was rescued by emergency personnel at Beltzville State Park Wednesday afternoon after he fell about 30 to 40 feet from the access road leading to the breast of the dam to the waters of the Pohopoco Creek.

The man was brought to the surface by members of the Franklin Township fire company.

He was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby trauma center.

Franklin Township fire police maintained traffic control at the scene.
