December 31, 2014 - A day after Northwestern’s Harry Hall is named the Football Player of the Year, Lehighton’s Tyler Cann and Palmerton’s Tre Nelson are selected as the Times News Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year. Cann completed 85-of-128 passes for 1,469 yards and 11 touchdowns, and rushed for 514 yards and two scores. Nelson finished with 124 tackles to end his career with 413. Other honors go to Northwestern’s Cam Richardson (receiver) and George Haddad (offensive lineman), Lehighton’s Wyatt Clements (linebacker), Marian’s Joe Damiano (defensive lineman) and Pleasant Valley’s Nyiem Nevarez (defensive back).
