Thanksgiving dinners

• Meed’s Memorial United Methodist Church, Nesquehoning will hold its free Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 21. The dinners will be take-out only and reservations must be made. The pickup times will be 3 and 5 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling the church at 570-669-9212 and leaving a clear message with a return phone number. When placing your order please give the number of dinners and how many of them are white or dark meat.

• A free community Thanksgiving meal will be served at Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton, on Nov. 24. Eat in is 5 to 7 p.m. Curbside available 6 to 7 p.m. only. Call 610-826-2201 during this hour to place curbside orders. No deliveries or reservations. No early curbside orders will be taken. All are invited. Hope to see you there.

• The American Legion, Post 927, in Gilbert, will be the site of a free community Thanksgiving dinner from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 25, as hosted by the Legion and the West End Home Association. All are welcome. Reservations are not required.

• Pastor Ken, at Effort UMC, has announced that it is with deep regret that the community Thanksgiving dinner held at the church for 15 years will be canceled this year. He cites with today’s environment social distancing being the new normal, he does not feel that people should be brought together for both the dinner and the prep.
