November 9, 1963 - Summit Hill wins the final football game in its history by shutting out Marian, 13-0, behind its strong passing attack. The Hillers, who will combine with Coaldale, Lansford and Nesquehoning to form Panther Valley for the 1964 season, throw for 203 yards and both touchdowns against the Colts. Ed Vermillion tosses a 51-yard scoring pass to Joe Kokinda late in the first half to snap a scoreless tie. The winners, coached by Richie Davidyock, add an insurance tally in the final frame as Joe Perilli connects with Larry Breiner for a 65-yard TD pass. Perilli and Kokinda also add interceptions on defense.
