Jim Thorpe Tourism Agency announces return of festivals

The Jim Thorpe Tourism Agency announces a return to Jim Thorpe’s legendary festivals.

Consistently ranked among the “Top” U.S. Small Towns for leaf peeping, Christmas, outdoor adventure and activities, history and Victorian Architecture, Jim Thorpe offers year-round charm.

The fall festival, in conjunction with Carbon Chamber and Economic Development, Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau, Borough of Jim Thorpe and Carbon County Commissioners, will be held over three weekends: Oct. 9 and 10, 16 and 17, 23 and 24.

There will be free music on four stages and unique food vendors, with a focus on fresh and local offerings.

The Old Time Christmas weekends will be held on Dec. 4 and 5, 11 and 12, and 18 and 19.

Horse and buggy rides as well as a Santa Train will be offered.

A tree lighting will be held Dec. 3 in Josiah White Park, with Santa’s arrival and entertainment to benefit local nonprofits.

Tentative activities for Old Time Christmas include children’s events, carolers, horse and buggy rides, choir boys, Dickens reading and a Christmas concert.

The Jim Thorpe Krampus Festival will be held Dec. 4.

WinterFest 2022 is tentatively scheduled Feb. 19 and 20, with ice bars, ice carving and wood carving.
